Pursuant to the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1989, Public Law 99-159; and the United States Environmental Protection Agency Rule: Asbestos Containing Materials in Schools, 40 CFR 763, º£½Ç¹Ù·½Ê×Ò³s (CICS) is complying with the annual asbestos notification with this publication.

Certain construction materials may contain asbestos and are considered Asbestos-Containing Building Materials (ACBM). CICS continuously monitors the status of known and assumed ACBM throughout its facilities by conducting six-month periodic surveys and three-year reinspections of newly identified or remaining ACBM. The six-month surveys are completed in the Spring and Fall of each year. The last three-year reinspection was completed in 2022. The next three-year reinspection will be completed in 2025.

This is to notify you that a copy of the Asbestos Management Plan, including post-response action activities, is available at each school during regular school hours by appointment. Requests to review the Asbestos Management Plan must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Copies of the Asbestos Management Plans are available upon request through the Facilities and Capital Department.

Notifications for response actions are provided to the school for issuance and a copy is placed in the Asbestos Management Plan.
