Since 2010, CICS has partnered with , a leading global real estate firm with headquarters in Chicago. The C&W partnership educates and exposes CICS students to the city of Chicago and its many resources and attractions. Additionally, the partnership provides CICS students the opportunity to speak with employees and tour C&W's downtown office. 

As part of this year's program, the firm hosted an entire class of sixth graders from CICS Prairie who presented group projects to C&W staff. Through their presentations, students gained experience with public speaking in a new environment and learned more about using their own research and preparation to make an impression in a professional setting. 

Staff evaluated the students’ presentations on six Chicago neighborhoods and picked a winner using rubric-based criteria. Although each group presented in a highly engaging and informative manner, the Wicker Park group earned the highest rating for their gameshow-like presentation! The neighborhood will be the focus of an upcoming field trip this spring.
